INDOOR SWIMMING

Urbandale Swimming Pool - Ages 2 and under are free with an adult's admission. Open noon to 5, Monday through Friday.

Summit Pool - Open Swim through May. Wednesdays & Fridays 6:45 to 8 p.m.; Saturdays & Sundays 2 to 5 p.m. $2 for kids; $3 for adults.

PLAY AREAS & INDOOR RECREATION

Family Nights at Pioneer-Columbus Community Center - The last Friday of every month between January and May from 6 to 8 p.m., families can play basketball, volleyball, pool, table tennis, Foosball, air hockey and more. Children 16 and under can attend, along with their parents. Free, no registration.

Backyard Adventures - Indoor play area is open Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $5 per child ages 2+. You must have at least one adult for every 4 children. Water is always available or you may bring in your own drinks, food or snacks.

Recess - This facility in Ankeny offers 22,000 sq. ft. of games, toys, rides and food. There is also a "parrot habitat" and a zoo, as well as an arcade and private party services.

The Playground for Kids - This Ankeny play place lets kids bounce and slide on five inflatables and play on a 45-foot-long tree house play structure for $7 with no time limit. Open play Monday, Wednesday & Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday & Thursday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Indoor Preschool Park (Ages 5 and under) **SEASONAL - Play on Little Tykes equipment, big wheels and play mats November through April. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Pump It Up (Ages 2 and Up) - Features giant, custom designed, fun-filled, interactive inflatable play structures. Pop-In Playtime (Pre-K) is Thursday from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. and Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Elementary kids pop-in playtime is Tuesday from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Jumpin' Jacks - Offers food, inflatables, games and parties. Open play is all day, everyday. A toddler area for kids under 3 is also available.

Youth Recreation (Ages 18 and under) - The Pioneer-Columbus Community Center recreation facility features two full-size gyms, a remodeled weight room, cardiovascular equipment, ping-pong tables, foosball table, pool tables, air hockey table and much more. Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Indoor Playground - The West Des Moines Community Center has open play for children 4 and under with an adult. There are big wheels, balls and mats in a rec room on Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 2 p.m., typically mid-October to mid-April.

SKATE

Saylor Skatepark - Saylor Skatepark has 15,625 square feet of heated and air-conditioned space with 13,750 square feet designed for skateboarding, inline skating, and BMX. The park is open seven days a week and even serves as a location for parties and special events.

FAMILY

Family Game Night - Every Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m., Java Joe's Coffeehouse hosts game night. Families can check out board games from their library or bring their own. KaleidoScoops ice cream is available for $2.00. All ages are welcome.

Baby & Me Yoga (Ages Newborn to Crawlers) - Come stretch your body, have fun with your baby and meet the newest members of our community. Ages: Newborns ‘til babe can crawl circles around your mat. Please bring a baby blanket and a sense of humor. 75 minutes. No pre-registration or yoga experience necessary.

Toddler Movement (Ages 2 to 5) - Dance, sing, try some yoga poses and prepare your toddler for a really good afternoon nap! Parent involvement encouraged. Younger siblings welcome. 45 minutes.
