The Polk County Health Department will begin offering vaccinations for the H1N1 influenza virus. Only the FluMist will be available. Flu Mist contains a live (weakened) influenza virus. It is sprayed into the nostrils.

Many of the local hospitals are considering plans that will keep visitors out of the nursery when a baby is born. While we are all very eager to see a new baby, we have to remember that these types of rules are to protect the health of the newborn and mother. This is especially true with H1N1 because it has been found to cause more serious complications in pregnant women and children. On Monday, September 28, the Waukee Pizza Ranch (448 SE University Avenue) is donating 15% of their sales between 5:00-8:00 P.M. to the Urbandale Food Pantry and Urbandale Caring Corps. During this time period, Urbandale Food Pantry/Caring Corps volunteers will be bussing tables for tips. Funds will be donated from receipts of dine-in, carry-out, and delivery sales.

So I've become so ridiculous about coupon clipping lately. You should see my little plastic organizer... it's bursting at the seams.
Then there are the coupon books that both my husband and I are suckers for. They are stuffed in the glove box, in the cabinet, in our wallets.
But here's the kicker -- I never redeem them!
And I get so mad when I go back through my coupons and see how much money I could have saved were I to actually remember that I had the coupon and use it!
