swim lessons

I am looking for swim lessons for my 6, soon to be 7, year old daughter. It seems all of the public classes fill up quick, are inconvienent or too expensive. Are there any persons out there that can teach a child to swim? Even someone that is or was a lifegaurd that could spare an hour.
